Embrace

Years are moving slow Life is moving fast I should be looking forward But I'm only looking back I spent so many days Stuck and standing still I knew I had the purpose I guess I lacked the will Nothing ever feels Like it belongs to me Everything is some strange And terrifying dream I plan on keeping awful quiet On the day I leave Like some steady, fading Childhood memory I thought that I would grow but I'm still afraid I thought that I would act and not hesitate Eventually our paths all deviate Here's to everything We're learning to embrace I know I shouldn't hold on To the little things I do I should accept my failures But I'm placing them on you I've been running into old friends And running out of fumes Running out the clock As I'm moving room to room We all grow apart As we all grow old Knowing our confessions Leaving them untold Ever-present forces That we can't control Almost as scary as The ones that we don't know Just another day to occupy Just another truth to realize The lacking answer leaves a bitter taste I guess it's just another thing We're learning to embrace There really isn't much to contemplate The bottom line it never quite equates And as I finally see you can't fight fate We'll be seeing to that me and you Start working through the next thing to embrace --- Embrace - Patrick Nelson
