We think we’re part of the free world But we’ve never been so wrong As time is being moved out of joint We cannot imagine any defiance Somehow thinking that we’re unaffected When we stand against the racing standstill We’ve lost the will and resolve to move away As all alliances have long been broken apart Our hearts die somewhere in silence In search of resolution In the name of progress What was set in motion Has spun out of control If truth is spoken at the end of all this And what will be heard We cannot imagine And I feel this is how the story ends Our lives now derailed by momentum We cannot see the outcome anymore We’ve lost all hope and vision to make it out Deluded by profusion and unrelenting need So we wander alone As all that is solid melts into air Lost in isolation We cannot prevail against these odds Our hearts die somewhere in silence In search of resolution In the name of progress Our minds turn into overdrive To endure this terminal state of being In the face of revolution In the name of progress What was set in motion Has spun out of control If truth is spoken at the end of all this And what will be heard We cannot imagine And I feel this is how the story ends
