One day I decided that I'd up and write a song
So I grabbed a notebook and pencil and I started to write
My next couple days were a state of euphoria
I wrote what I wanted and I did what I liked
I played a cool hook on the piano after ordering a mic
It arrived later and I was ready to blow my cover that night
I'd taken for granted and I'd loved my old life
But not once I felt what this idol feeling was like
Now people scream Adam Blad like it's always been around
What was life like before I was drowned by my fans
To be completely honest with you I saw myself becoming like this
And music just unlocked the potential of my gifts
I'm usually misunderstood by everyone I talk to
They don't realize that I don't care what I come off as
Cause uh letting other people affect you only ends in depression

18 years and what do I have to show for
Got a lot of fans but I always want more
Playing on stage makes me feel adored
Nothing like adrenaline from people yelling you're their idol
Is it bad that I want this, to be an idol, if I want to inspire people?
I'm doing everything I can to stay true to myself more than my fans
I'm not quitting music that was just for show
I thought a pause could do me some good, help me improve

I've quite literally forgotten how to live without this here
